The Bio-Economy Park

Unique to Outlook Resources, the Bio-Economy Park concept provides Agri-business owners with an opportunity to maximize efficiencies by utilizing by-products of production, utilities, energy supplies and services in an ecologically sound and environmentally friendly manner.

Outlook's has dedicated four years of research, development and partnership building toward this effort to bring its vision to a reality.

The opportunity to work in concert with like minded groups in developing efficient, sustainable, Agri-Health, Agri-Food and Agri-Energy products has resulted in a growing number of development projects already underway.

Features:

Location:

Outlook's Bio-Economy Parks are typically located in rural areas in close proximity to feedstock supplies to reduce transportation costs and improve economies of scale.

By utilizing marginal or lower quality agricultural land to develop its projects on Outlook is able to maximise its environmental footprint cost effectively while staying away from highly populated areas allows us to eliminate difficulties with traffic flow and operational issues in addition to preserving higher quality farm land for the production of higher value crops.

Resources:

Our number one resource requirement is people. Outlook has found the work-ethic within the rural Agricultural community to be alive and well, of high calibre and exhibiting an entrepreneurial spirit second to none.

Of secondary importance to the people, energy supply requirements are of prime importance to the efficacy of the Bio-Economy Park concept.

Manitoba enjoys one of the lowest electrical power rates in North America and generates 90% of its power requirements from hydro-electric facilities. The "Green" value of operating a Bio-Economy Park utilizing electricity generated by hydro electric facilities augurs well for the ecological viability and sustainability factors necessary to validate Outlook's Bio-Economy Park business model.

Adaptability:

The Bio-Economy Park concept is unique in its approach to diversification for local Agricultural producers and bodes well for governments committed to Rural Economic Development.
